Buying Guide · bakery dough divider weight range RFQ

Specify Dough Divider Weight Range Before an RFQ

Choose a dough divider against the lightest and heaviest pieces you plan to sell, then check whether it can meet the required rate with each dough. A brochure weight range alone cannot show how your dough will divide or feed the next machine.

Specify Dough Divider Weight Range Before an RFQ

Define the products at both ends of the range

List target piece weight, dough type, hydration range, temperature and expected hourly output for each product family. Include the smallest routine order as well as the peak run. A divider that suits the peak loaf may not be the right choice for a small roll.

State whether pieces go directly to rounding, panning or another forming step. Give the supplier the receiving height, lane count and available floor space so the proposed divider is evaluated as part of the makeup line.

Compare accuracy under real conditions

Ask bidders to state the approved piece-weight range and operating speed for the proposed configuration. AMF publishes model-specific scaling ranges and throughput figures, which illustrates why one quoted number cannot be applied to every divider or dough. Do not copy another maker’s figures into a Hongzhong specification.

Agree how sample pieces will be weighed during a trial, including startup, steady running and a recipe change. Record both weight spread and visible dough condition. If a bidder cannot test your dough, ask which assumptions remain unverified before accepting a performance claim.

Close the quotation gaps

Confirm the hopper feed, tooling or pocket arrangement, flouring or oiling needs, utility connections, guarding, cleaning access and spare parts. Mark each item as included, optional or supplied by the site. The interface to a checkweigher or downstream conveyor should be drawn, not left to installation day.

Keep an acceptance sheet with the product, piece weight, line rate, trial method and who signs off the result. This makes offers comparable and gives the installation team a useful baseline.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I specify a divider by loaves per hour alone?

No. Give piece weights, dough types and the required rate for each product.

Does a published weight range guarantee my recipe?

No. Confirm the proposed model and test representative dough where performance matters.

What should the trial record?

Record setup, sample weights, running rate, dough condition and the downstream handoff.
