Bakery Equipment FAT Checklist for Importers

International bakery equipment procurement is more than confirming a model and arranging payment. Importers, distributors and project owners need a process to verify configuration, factory test results, packing and installation readiness before shipment.

Bakery Equipment FAT Checklist for Importers

Confirm the specification before production

The purchase confirmation should identify model, quantity, tray capacity, tray size, heating method, voltage, frequency, controller, accessories, destination and packing requirements. This document becomes the reference for testing and final inspection.

For rotary rack ovens, confirm the rack type, door configuration, energy choice and any steam function. For depositors, mixers or processing machines, confirm product-contact parts, controls, safety guards and accessory packages.

Build a practical FAT checklist

A checklist makes the review specific. Check model identification, serial number, nameplate, external finish, door and handle operation, control panel, safety labels, accessories and selected utility configuration.

Functional checks should reflect the machine. For a rotary rack oven, observe door operation, rack rotation, fan operation, controller startup, temperature display, timer and emergency stop. Agree before the test whether a product bake, empty run or another demonstration is required.

Document the result

A generic factory video is useful but should not replace an agreed inspection process. Request photographs of the complete machine, nameplate, control panel, ordered accessories and packing preparation. A live review can be arranged for suitable projects.

For higher-value projects, buyers may choose a third-party inspection provider. The scope should be clear: quantity verification, visual inspection, functional review, packing inspection or loading supervision.

Inspect export packing and loading

After FAT approval, check whether accessories are identified, documents are protected, moving parts are secured, control panels are protected, shipping marks are correct and packing matches the packing list.

Before container loading, confirm the unloading plan at destination. The site may need a forklift, pallet truck, crane, suitable access route and local installation support. Knowing these details before shipment prevents avoidable delays after arrival.

Prepare the installation site

Use the supplier's layout and utility sheet to confirm final position, service clearance, electrical or gas readiness, ventilation, exhaust route, floor condition and access dimensions.

A short pre-shipment review involving the buyer, supplier and local installer can identify missing details while corrections are still simple. This is especially valuable for customised voltage, fuel or rack arrangements.
